Gabriela Szabo

“Moving is natural, it is part of ourselves, and it is discovered at an early age. Parents are the first and the most important role models for their children. Alongside their parents, children feel safe, receive the necessary advice and encouragement and gain confidence. They are the ones the children share with all their emotions of the day, while participating in a running race, but also while discovering the beauties of Bucharest.

I have been personally involved in the mass movement and I will continue to support it as a form of relaxation, at the same time for education purposes and also for  better health, for developing  a positive, beautiful and competitive spirit. That is the reason why i have become ambassador of the  Bucharest Marathon, which has promoted mass sports, for more than 10 years since it has been working perfectly. Valeria is part of the family of champions, for whom sport means life.”

Gabriela Szabo competed in the 1500 m and 5000 m events at the 1996 and 2000 Olympics and won a gold, a silver and a bronze medal. Szabo is a three-time world champion. She remains the European record holder in the 3000 m.  She is also a former Minister of Youth and Sport in the Romanian Government.
